On Reading Comics: A Poem

O mythos! O literary arts!
How you distract with coy marveling ways!
Combative superheroes materialize, beguiling Watchmen smarts,
Yet Buffy, Star Wars battle in Dark Horse craze,
I try and remain devout. Loyal, Marvel girl.
Yet McFarlane’s hellspawn confliction
beckons, reaching across elven traveling fae in human maze.
Secluded comic man; shamefully, I reach deep to unfurl
monetary boon entrenched in siren’s song, weakly addiction,
returning to knights Dark and Jedi.
Circular ritual of adolescence phase.
